PRP for Hair Loss Aftercare

Immediately after treatment:

1. Mild redness, swelling, or tenderness at the injection sites is normal and usually resolves within a few days.
2. Tiny pinpoint marks or mild bruising may appear where injections were performed; avoid scratching or rubbing the scalp.
3. Mild discomfort or a tingling sensation may be experienced for 24–48 hours.

Hair and scalp care:

1. Avoid washing your hair for the first 24 hours.
2. Use a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo after 24 hours.
3. Avoid scratching, rubbing, or massaging the scalp for at least 48 hours unless instructed by your practitioner.

Activities to avoid:

1. Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms, and swimming for 48 hours.
2. Avoid hair coloring, chemical treatments, or heat styling for 48–72 hours.
3. Avoid direct sun exposure; wear a hat or use sunscreen on exposed scalp areas.

General care:

1. Stay hydrated and maintain a healthy diet to support hair growth.
2. PRP results appear gradually over several weeks, with optimal results often seen after 2–3 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart.
3. Follow up with your practitioner as recommended for subsequent sessions.
